Most musicians are gifted, but Musiq Soulchild is the definition of the word. For almost 2 decades, he’s showcased his genius in the world of R&B, Hip Hop Soul & neo soul.
Drawing influence from funk, blues, jazz, gospel Hip Hop & R&B, Musiq’s musicianship is way above some of his peers and makes him one of the best male musicians of his time.
Musiq deserves his flowers because his discography is the soundtrack of our lifetime! 🗣
Musiq is definitely appreciated by the new schoolers of R&B!

Musiq became a household name when he recorded “Just Friends (Sunny) for the Nutty Professor II: The Klumps soundtrack.
He kept the momentum going with the debut of his album “Aijuswanaseing,” with songs like “Love,” “Girl Next Door” & his cover of Patrice Rushen’s “Settle For My Love.”
Musiq’s sophomore album “Juslisen” was nominated for Best R&B album at the Grammys in 2003, & for great reasoning. Songs like “Halfcrazy” & “Dontchange” are pure gems in his catalog! 🙌🏾😭
Musiq contributed to the neo soul/hip hop soul sound of the 00s 🙌🏾🙌🏾 nothing but bops.

One of my favorite albums from this decade is Musiq’s collaboration album with Syleena Johnson.
Musiq Soulchild continues to bless his fans with quality music, which is something that is missing in today’s world of R&B. -MJ
