Usher: Give Our Legends Their Flowers.

Usher is easily one of the most recognizable artists in the world, & one of the very few that’s had crossover success in pop, R&B & Hip-Hop.

Usher has been referred to as the current King of R&B by various media outlets, & that’s a title that can’t be debated in my opinion. He’s been in the game for over 20+ years, stayed consistent & can keep up with the past, current and future generations. With that being said, those flowers should’ve been given to him POSTS ago.

One of my favorite Usher songs is Throwback from his Confessions album. He sampled Dionne Warwick’s “You’re Gonna Need Me.”

Usher’s discography is appreciated by so many, that his music has been sampled by many of his musical peers!

You want Usher to be featured on your record! He’s been on some of the most amazing R&B & pop records ever. Put some respect on the king’s name!

The 90s:

Albums Released: Usher, My Way.

Usher’s eponymous debut album was released August 30th, 1995 on the LaFace label. With production from Diddy, Chucky Thompson, Al B. Sure, DeVante Swing and countless others, it’s an album that gives you the 90s feels we know and enjoy. We even have Faith Evans on the background vocals and songwriting tip!

Also in 1995, Usher was featured on Monica’s debut album “Miss Thang,” singing a cover of Latimore’s “Let’s Straighten It Out.” It’s ridiculous how young they were SANGING on a blues song like that.

With his sophomore album “My Way,” Usher received the breakthrough he deserved! Filled with cool bops and smooth R&B jams, Usher was on his way to be one of R&B’s finest.

The 00s:

Albums Released: 8701, Confessions, Here I Stand.

8701 showcased Usher’s growth as an artist. Inspired by Donny, Michael, Stevie & Marvin, Usher developed more of a mature persona, & gave us quality music with the help of producers like Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jermaine Dupri, LA Reid, Babyface & Neptunes.

Confessions solidified Usher as an icon in the world of music. Selling 1.1 million copies in the first work, Confessions is the second-best selling album of the 2000s decade in the United States, & certified Diamond by the RIAA.

20 million copies WORLDWIDE. Not to mention, the album is QUALITY MUSIC, with not one song being skip worthy. He was easily the biggest artist of 2004.

Usher continued his reign as one of the best artists of the 2000s.

The 10s:

Albums Released: Raymond V. Raymond, Versus, Looking 4 Myself, Hard II Love, A.

Our favorite legend kept the momentum going with Raymond V. Raymond. It is easily one of my favorite albums from him. He came WITH it.

Usher has continued to be consistent in this decade. From being versatile in the genres of R&B, dance-pop, electropop & hip-Hop, Usher shows that he still has what it takes to be on top.

Usher has become one of the biggest icons and sex symbols in the last few decades. He will go down as one of the best to ever do it.

Usher Raymond IV IS DESERVING OF ALL OF THE FLOWERS. -MJ.
