Isaac Hayes: Give Our Legends Their Flowers.

Isaac Hayes was a KING. His ear for music is simply untouchable! Being one of the forces behind the legendary Stax Records , Isaac produced and wrote some of the most amazing songs ever.

In addition to his work as a singer, producer & songwriter, he was a composer for some of the iconic soundtracks for Black movies like Shaft.

Another iconic fact about Isaac is that he’s the third African-American to win an Academy Award behind Hattie McDaniel & Sidney Poitier. A DAMN LEGEND!

Isaac’s music has been sampled by some of the greatest artists ever! The legend’s impact will never fade away!

In 1969, Isaac’s second album “Hot Buttered Soul” is considered a landmark in soul music! His cover of Dionne Warwick’s “Walk on By” is simply phenomenal. He turned 3 minute pop songs into 12 minute gospel inspired soulful bops! 😩😩
