⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak are two of the most amazing entertainers I’ve ever seen. The pair formed the superduo group Silk Sonic in 2021, and the world hasn’t been the same since.

Bruno is one of the best-selling artists of all time, selling over 130 million records worldwide, the first artist to receive five diamond-certified songs in the US and has released eight number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since his career launched to superstardom in 2010.
Anderson .Paak is a rapper, singer, producer, songwriter and drummer that is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Signing to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath records, Paak has been under the radar and extremely underrated until now and I am glad the world is finally taking notice of his musical talents.
The duo’s debut album An Evening with Silk Sonic was released on November 12, 2021. An album with influences of rap, soul, R&B, funk, An Evening with Silk Sonic pays homage to the 1960s to 70s retro era. The pair even had a special guest in the legendary Bootsy Collins!!!

An Evening with Silk Sonic debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 104,000 equivalent album units. One thing I want people not to get from this record is that it is not a form of appropriation, but appreciation to the music from that era. From Philly Soul, to Motown to funk and soul, you pretty much get all of those legendary vibes from this album. I am certain this duo is here to stay.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you Silk Sonic’s An Evening with Silk Sonic!
Silk Sonic Intro
Written by Bruno Mars ・Brandon Anderson ・Dernst Emile II
The intro opens up the album with Anderson, Bruno & special guest the living legend Boosty Collins.
Leave the Door Open

Written by Bruno Mars ・Brandon Anderson ・Dernst Emile II ・Christopher Brody Brown
Leave The Door Open is truly going to be the group’s signature and classic record hands down. It is the most quintessential record to me! The group’s remarkable harmonies together. The production alone had me with the Philly soul influences! Truly a chef’s kiss. Lyrically, the song is about the two professing love for their significant others, and how the door will be left open for them to enter at their leisure.
The song was released as the lead single from the album, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 & Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts..giving Bruno’s fastest and eighth number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Anderson’s first. The song has been certified 2x platinum by the RIAA.
Fly as Me
Written by Bruno Mars ・Brandon Anderson ・Dernst Emile II ・James Fauntleroy ・Sean Anderson
The follow up track Fly as Me is funky, witty and is truly one of the album’s gems. From a lyrical perspective, the song is about how a woman would be lucky to be involved with either one of them.
After Last Night with Thundercat & Bootsy Collins
Written by Bruno Mars ・Brandon Anderson ・Dernst Emile II ・James Fauntleroy ・Stephen Bruner ・Jonathan Yip ・ Ray Romulus ・Jeremy Reeves ・Ray Charles McCollough II
First off, let me say that After Last Night is my favorite song on the album. Lyrically, the song speaks about how they experienced a great sexual partner the night before, and how they are willing to risk it all for her. I think we’ve all been there before. Someone puts it on you so good that you think you fell in love with them. We’ve all been there!
Smokin Out the Window
Written by Bruno Mars • Brandon Anderson • Dernst Emile II
Released as the third single from the album, Smokin Out The Window is one of the highlights for sure! From a lyrical perspective, the song is about the pair “crying in the club” over a woman that could’ve been the one but they had to let her go. The song was another top 5 hit for the duo, peaking at number two and five on the R&B & pop charts respectively.

Put On a Smile
Written by Bruno Mars • Brandon Anderson • Dernst Emile II • Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds
Put On A Smile needs to be one of the next singles from the album because it is a true masterpiece. 😩 The fact that Babyface (yes the LEGENDARY KENNETH “BABYFACE” EDMONDS) co-wrote and sang background vocals on this song is just iconic as hell alone. Then of course the production and vocals had me sold as well.
777
Written by Bruno Mars • Brandon Anderson • Dernst Emile II • Christopher Brody Brown
777 is definitely song you play when you’re going to gamble or hit Las Vegas period. 777 gives me huge funk and rock vibes and is one of the highlights of the album.
Skate
Written by Bruno Mars • Brandon Anderson • Dernst Emile II • James Fauntleroy • Domitille Degalle • J.D. Beck
Skate was released as the second single, and for a minute it definitely had to grow on me. I didn’t think it was a bad song, cause it’s really song I’d skate to but as a follow up to Leave The Door Open wasn’t the best choice. However, the song has influences of R&B, disco and funk and is a feel good record to dance to or go skating to! The song was a top 5 hit on the Billboard R&B charts, peaking at number five.
Love’s Train

Written by Felton C. Pilate • Michael Cooper
At first I was going to stick with the original format of the album, but I love the cover so much..I had to the include it on the album revisit. Love’s Train by Con Funk Shun is definitely one of my favorite quiet storm and soul songs of all time. & the group’s cover of it is truly amazing. The group released the song on Valentine’s Day 2022, and included the album as the 9th track of an updated streaming version for the album. Produced by Bruno & D’Mile, the song has recently cracked the top 40 of the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart.
Blast Off
Written by Bruno Mars • Brandon Anderson • Dernst Emile II
The album closes with Blast Off and is truly the perfect song to do so! One thing about me, is I’m going to smoke. & from a lyrical perspective, the song is being taken to another world through the use of drugs that take you on a psychedelic trance. The R&B & funk song is a true masterpiece.

Silk Sonic’s debut album is truly one of the best R&B albums of all time, and that‘s no lie. An Evening With Silk Sonic is just organic, orgasmic and just a funky, soulful ride into the world of two musical geniuses. I am totally excited to see what’s to come from the pair. -MW.
