⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Barry White was a musician okay. With a career spanning almost half of a century, Barry gave us songs that became the soundtracks of our lives. White’s career began with him playing the piano on Jessie Belvin’s 1956 hit single Goodnight My Love, and was a producer for acts including the group he discovered (Love Unlimited).
Initially hesitating at the thought of a solo career, White eventually released his debut album titled I’ve Got So Much to Give in March of 1973. The album made Barry an overnight sensation, introducing the crooner into a hit with the ladies.
The album has been certified Gold by the RIAA, and was Barry’s first number one R&B record on the R&B album charts!
Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you Barry White’s I’ve Got So Much to Give.
Side one:
Standing in the Shadows of Love
Written by Brian Holland • Lamont Dozier • Eddie Holland
A cover of a classic from The Four Tops, Standing in the Shadows of Love showcases why Barry was a phenomenal producer, as well as a singer. The 8+ minute record kicks off the album with with a cinematic like production and the Love Unlimited Orchestra on the background vocals..just remarkable!
Bring Back My Yesterday
Written by Barry White • Robert Relf
Bring Back My Yesterday is a somber ballad that has the singer expressing how much he wants the love he had lost. I love the record, but the production makes me really sad. I felt every lyric.
Side two:
I’ve Found Someone
Written by Barry White
I’ve Found Someone is a song about finding that one and how you thought it was too good to be true.
I’ve Got So Much to Give

Written by Barry White
We found that certain thing
that certain feeling
that lets two people express themselves how they feel.
let your love flow inside of you.
don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, baby.
-Barry White, 1973
Everything about the title track is purely magical. I’ve Got So Much to Give is a special song to me because I remember being a kid, and my mom played his greatest hits album religiously. It is the most romantic record I’ve ever heard! The song peaked at number one
I’m Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby

Written by Barry White
The album closes with the amazing I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby. It is not only one of Barry’s signature records, but his debut single as well. It gave Barry his first R&B number one hit and first top 3 pop hit. The song has been sampled by artists like Ralph Tresvant, The Notorious B.I.G., Alicia Keys & many more.
Barry White went to have a successful solo career, becoming one of the most successful artists of all time wirth over 100 million records sold. We need artists like Barry in music today, and he is terribly missed. -MW.
