⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jamie Foxx has had a phenomenal career as a comedian and actor, but as a SINGER?! WHEW listen. Jamie Foxx’s career as a musician has been truly amazing to witness especially growing up. His first album Peep This, was released in 1994 and while it was a moderate success…it solidifed Jamie to launch his professional career after In Living Color Fame.

He went on to have a successful run on his own sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show from 2006-2001 on the WB. In the early 2000s, Foxx scored two number hits (2003’s Slow Jamz with Twista & Kanye West, & 2005’s Gold Digger with Kanye West,) and starred as legendary musician Ray Charles in his 2004 biopic, Ray.
Jamie Foxx released his second studio album Unpredictable, on December 27, 2005 by J Records. I was 13 when this album dropped, and when I tell you that millennials LOVE this album! Unpredictable is a R&B masterpiece, especially considering the music that was released that year! Like he ended the year with a BANG!!!! Musically, the album is about LOVE in every aspect. Unpredictable is full with R&B classics that stand the test of time as well.

Unpredictable peaked at number 1 on the Billboard 200 & Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts respectively with first-week sales of 597,000 copies, making Jamie the fourth Academy Award winner to top the 200 chart. The album has since become certified 2x platinum by the RIAA.
Ladies & Gentlemen, in present to you Jamie Foxx’s Unpredictable.
Unpredictable (featuring Ludacris)

Written by Harold Lilly ∙ James Scheffer ∙ Derrick Baker ∙ Christopher Bridges
The albums opens with the successful title track, which features rapper Ludacris. Lyrically, the song has the signer telling the ladies that he knows they’re tired of the predictability in the bedroom, and he’s going to give an experience he’s never going to forget. The song became Jamie’s first top ten single as a lead artist, peaking at number 8 and 2 on the pop & R&B charts respectively. The RIAA has certified the song as platinum as well! A classic lead single!
***Unpredictable contians samples of Wildflower & Wild Flower (Suite) by New Birth.
Warm Bed
Written by Sean Garrett ∙ Michael Crooms ∙ Prentice Sprye
Warm Bed has the singer expressing to someone he met at the club that he has a nice bed for them to have some fun in. & that’s on period!
DJ Play a Love Song (featuring Twista)

Written by Jamal Jones ∙ Sean Garrett ∙ Jason Perry
The second single from the album was DJ Play A Love Song, which was the perfect choice because it just has one of those mesmerizing melodies. The song also reunites Foxx with Twista, who he worked with on the Slow Jamz record. DJ Play A Love Song gave Foxx another top five hit on the R&B charts.
***DJ Play A Love Song was sampled for Tink’s Let Down My Guard, which features Ty Dolla $ign.
With You (featuring The Game and Snoop Dogg)
Written by Jamie Foxx ∙ Durrell Babbs ∙ Calvin Broadus ∙ Nate Walton ∙ Ainz Prasad
With You is one of my favorite songs on the album, being that Tank (my favorite male singer) produced it! Featuring Snoop Dogg & The Game, With You is lyrically about wanting everything with a special lady.
Can I Take U Home

Written by Timothy Mosley ∙ Stephen Garrett
Can I Take U Home is one of my favorites from the album, & rightfully so because it’s a masterpiece. With production from Timbaland & the late and great Static Major, Can I Take U Home’s instrumental alone is pure genius. The song peaked at number 48 on the Billboard R&B charts.
Love Changes (featuring Mary J. Blige)
Written by Skip Scarborough
Love Changes is a duet with the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige from the classic Mother’s Finest record! A nice bop!
***Love Changes is a cover of Mother’s Finest’s 1978 version.
Extravaganza (featuring Kanye West)

Written by Kanye West ∙ Mike City
Extravaganza is storytelling okay! After having too many drinks, the singer tells the story of a one night stand with a beautiful model. Featuring Kanye West, the song is a real smooth one to vibe to.
Three Letter Word
Written by Harold Lilly ∙ Ernest Smith ∙ Michael Snoddy ∙ Earl Klugh
Three Letter Word is a song about SEX! Like you’ve ever just been getting it on with your boo and want to hear this song? chef’s kiss. In the song, the singer talks about how sex has become addicting at this point..and I know it has for me! Whew chile.
Get This Money
Written by Mike City
Get This Money is a song I love to smoke and vibe too. Top tier actually!
VIP
Written by Jamie Foxx ∙ Mateo Laboriel ∙ Durrell Babbs ∙ Herbie Hancock
VIP is another one of my favorite records on the album. I mean, with production from Tank are we suprised? VIP is the perfect song to kick it to when you’re with your people in a chill club. I love it.

Storm (Forecass) is a sensual and LUSTFUL record! 10s across the board.

U Still Got It is an uplifting record for the woman of your life, letting her know in his eyes, he’s still in love with every aspect of her. Rapper Common was featured on the song as well!
Heaven
Written by Jamie Foxx ∙ Durrell Babbs
Heaven is one of my favorite Jamie Foxx songs vocally. Very beautiful!
Wish U Were Here
Written by Jamie Foxx ∙ Ron Feemster ∙ Durrell Babbs ∙ Joseph “Lonny” Bereal ∙ Breyon Prescott
Wish U Were Here closes out the album, and is one of his most touching songs. Dedicated to his late grandmother, Wish U Were Here was put near the end so people can grasp the depth of the appreciation he has towards her.
Unpredictable was one of the best albums to be released in 2005. I don’t think i’ve ever appreciated a male artist this much since Luther Vandross. Jamie’s subsequent albums will be commercially successful records, but it’s always nice to revist the magic this album has to this day. Just real R&B from one of the best to do it! -MW.
